John Denver, a singer-songwriter born in Colorado that specialized in folk music has inspired millions of people. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Germandorf from Roswell located in the state of New Mexico,, was in Love with Colorado. He moved to Aspen. Denver's songs that he sang about his home state brought many others to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said in his report that John Denver was the best artist to capture Colorado. In 2011, Denver was named the Hall of Fame's first inductee. Today he personifies the state to people around the world. It is a fact that when I travel you come across someone from another end of the planet, someone who is from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado The first word to come out of their mouth is"Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief stint in smaller folk music groups comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver heard an early version immediately, he realized the song could be one of the top hits. Just a couple of days after performing to a packed audience at Washington D.C., the singer recorded his song.
