Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author as well as editors. Ryder's dad was born into the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Uria Ryder is her younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are her half-siblings. Ryder as well as her entire family moved to Mendocino, California at the age of seven. Ryder was only seven years old. In Mendocino County, they did not have electricity. Ryder was a voracious read because they had no TV. In 1983 when she was 12 Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. Her first role was a success on the big screen in 1986, at the age of 15 old. Ryder was bullied throughout high school. She hoped that her acting career would alter this. But, unfortunately, that didn't take place. The actress continued to chase her ambitions. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first big break. Ryder was able to continue playing roles that were successful in a variety of films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her role as a character in The Age of Innocence (1993).
